Slide Options

The Options Inspector lets you change settings of selected slides in the Storyboard/Timeline. The
Inspector is context sensitive, only those settings applicable to the selected items are shown. You can
make changes to multiple slides at once by selecting several slides in the Storyboard/Timeline before
adjusting settings in the Slides Options Inspector.

The Slides Options Inspector opens automatically when you double-click a slide in the
Storyboard/Timeline.

Animation

Enabling animation will apply a pan & zoom effect (also known as Ken Burns effect) to all layers
(images, movies, or titles) of a slide. Animation can be turned on with the Enabled checkbox in the
Slide options, or menu commands available in the Slideshow > Animation menu and various context
menus. The Stage will then display the selected slide twice: the start position of the animation on the
left side, and the finish position of the animation on the right side. FotoMagico will render the motion
between those two positions in real- time.

- Use the mouse or jog wheels in the Stage to apply desired position, zoom level and rotation
settings of your image for both the start and finish state of the animation.

- The Image Options, Movie Options, and Title Options contain a control for fine-tuning the timing of the animation. Refer to Fine Tuning Animation for more details.

Duration

The duration determines how long the animation of a slide takes. If the Continue type is set to After
Duration, then it also determines how long the slide is shown before the slideshow advances to the
next slide.

Drag the duration slider from 0s to 60s. You can also enter a duration longer than 60s by typing the
value into the text field next to the slider.

The image duration cannot be shorter than the transition duration of the preceding slide. If
you need a shorter image duration for a given slide, you need to decrease the amount of time
for the transition of the preceding slide.

If you apply a very short duration for a given slide, chances are the succeeding slide won't get preloaded quickly enough. In this case, the slideshow will advance to the next slide as soon as the media files of this slide have been loaded into video memory. The amount of time that is necessary to preload the media files can vary, depending on the speed of your
computer.

Continue

The Continue type determines how and when the slideshow advances to the next slide. There are
several options:

- After Duration - The slide will be shown for the specified duration before advancing to the next
slide. Set the slide duration with the Duration slider or by entering numeric values in the text field.

- At Mouse Click - The slideshow will pause at the end of this slide until you press the mouse
button to continue. Even though the slideshow is paused while waiting for the mouse click, audio
continues to play in the background. In this case you may want the audio loop endlessly.

- At Audio Marker - The slideshow advances to the next slide as soon as an audio marker in the
currently playing audio item is passed.

When selected, these options also display in the header of the Storyboard/Timeline above
each slide as the duration time, Click or Marker

If you choose continue At Audio Marker, make sure the audio item contains enough audio
markers, or your slideshow might get stuck. Read more about audio markers in Adjusting

Notes

Use the text field to enter teleprompter notes for the selected slide. These notes will be displayed in
the teleprompter or on the iPhone remote app during a live presentation.

Using teleprompter notes helps you to remember your live narration during the slideshow.

You can also use the notes field to enter notes or text to yourself about the slides during authoring.
For example, 'replace this image with an updated photo.'
